Welcome to the User Group Blog of the Customs Regulation Database! This blog was created for the benefit of the Sri Lankan and international trading community who would use the database for trade information and preliminary research.
The Customs Regulation Database (CRD) provides you rapid, inexpensive access to comprehensive, reliable and current customs information. The CRD consists of laws and regulations directly relevant to external trade as well as user guides that outline procedures applicable to trade in Sri Lanka. The CRD also provides the Harmonized System (HS) schedule of tariff with links to relevant laws and regulations for most of the HS items. Further, the users are given a facility to estimate taxes on imports through a tariff calculator.
The CRD is expected to facilitate efficient trade by lowering the transaction cost to traders with ready information, promote trade amongst small and medium traders, and free up the time of Customs Officers from providing preliminary information to prospective traders.
A User Group representing prominent traders and trade associations in Sri Lanka has been formed with the objective of testing CRD and proposing improvements to it. You are welcome to forward your comments for future improvement of the CRD.
